We’re making important upgrades to our network in Faversham to improve water pressure and make sure this is maintained as the local community grows.

We’ll be laying a small water main outside the fire station on the A251 Ashford Road. This will help tackle low pressure issues, which have become more common as new homes have been built in the area and to move water around our network more freely.

Our start date and planned duration

Work is due to start on Friday 11 April 2025 and the project is expected to take up to three weeks to complete. Our team will work as quickly as possible to complete the work sooner.

A road closure on the A251 will be in place for the first week of the project (11th to the 17th April) as we work in the road outside the fire station.

The work then moves onto private land in the entrance to the fire station for the remainder of the project.

This work is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the local water supply. We expect it to take around two weeks, but our team will work as quickly as possible to finish sooner.

Road closure and diversion

To keep everyone safe, we’ll need to close a section of the A251. The junction from the A2 London Road/Canterbury Road junction with the A251 will not be accessible to motorists, and a diversion via the M2 will be clearly signposted.

Our team will be working extended hours in order to complete the work as soon as possible, and some activity may be needed in the evenings and work will be taking place during weekends throughout the week long road closure.

Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements.
