We'll update this page every week with the surface water levels in our main reservoirs, Arlington Reservoir and Ardingly Reservoir.
The reservoirs are usually filled with water from the River Cuckmere and River Ouse, in the winter, ready for the extra demand in the summer months.
Our reservoirs are a vital water source throughout the summer months as they provide millions of additional litres daily to keep up with the higher demand.
Our most significant reservoirs in Sussex, Ardingly and Arlington, store up to 8,300 million litres of water and supply 8% of all the water we provide.
This is in addition to the millions of litres we sustainably abstract from boreholes and chalk aquifers.
Our reservoirs may look slightly low when summer ends, but this is entirely normal, as they are refilled between October and April with higher rainfall and river flows.
Currently, Ardingly and Arlington reservoirs are approximately 99.9 per cent and 98.9 per cent full, respectively.
Saving water is vital all year round to minimise supply disruption when demand is at its highest.
Top tips include using a water butt in your garden, fixing leaky loos and re-using water wherever possible.

Our current reservoir levels (as of Sunday 16 March 2025)
Arlington Reservoir directly feeds our nearby treatment works, so water levels naturally decrease and increase as we draw water from the reservoir, before refilling it from the River Cuckmere when conditions allow.
