South East Water is planning a £232,000 scheme to install a new water main in Tonbridge to improve its supply network and allow capacity for future development in the town.
Work is due to start on 25 July when 260 metres of pipe will be laid along a section of Lodge Oak Lane starting at the junction with Hectorage Road to the junction with Dowgate Close. This work is expected to take six weeks.
The second phase gets underway on 2 September and involves laying 150 metres of water pipe along Priory Road, near the Hectorage Road junction. This work is due to complete by the middle of October.
The third and final phase will involve laying 335 metres of pipe along Gorham Drive and Farm Ground Close between 12 October and the middle of December.Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
Temporary traffic lights will be used to enable motorists to use the roads while work takes place.
Chris Love, Development Manager at South East Water, said: “Our investment in this important scheme is necessary to improve the capacity of the network and ensure we can continue to maintain water pressure to the area as the community grows.”
