£620,000 investment in new water main through Nutley
13 July 2017

South East Water is set to invest £620,000 in laying a new water main through the village of Nutley in East Sussex to ensure water pressure can be maintained to the area as the community grows.

Traditional trenching techniques will be used to install the 1.4 kilometre pipe along the A22 in a project forecast to take 30 weeks with construction teams working six days a week.

Engineering between Fords Green and Horney Common will take place in 50 metre sections under traffic light control to ensure the safety of motorists and site workers.

Work is planned to start on Monday 21 August 2017 and regular project updates will be found at southeastwater.co.uk/nutleyA22

A project team from South East Water will be holding a drop-in session for local people to find out more about the scheme between 4pm and 7pm on Wednesday 26 July at Nutley War Memorial Hall, High Street, Nutley, East Sussex, TN22 3NE.

The project forms part of the company’s £424 million investment programme between 2015 and 2020.
