Lane closures to be in place as South East Water project progresses

Temporary lane closures will keep the public safe and traffic moving while South East Water’s scheme to secure water supplies in Farnborough reaches the next stage.

In January, work started to lay a new section of pipe along West Heath Road, Farnborough and now the project has moved to its next stage along West Heath Roundabout.

Lane closures will be in place on the roundabout from today (Tuesday 13 June) for approximately four weeks.

Matthew Cooper, Project Manager at South East Water, said: “Our work along West Heath Road has gone well and we would like to thank local residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation.

“To allow us to start laying our new pipe along West Heath Roundabout, we will need to have traffic lights in place on the roundabout to keep everyone safe.

“We appreciate roadworks can be frustrating which is why we have been working closely with the local highways department to keep traffic flowing through the area and keep disruption to a minimum.”

Matthew continued: “We expect this work to take approximately four weeks to complete before we move along to the small section we need to lay at the start of Fleet Road.

“I would like to apologise for the disruption this work will cause but hope motorists and the local community understand the long term benefits this scheme will deliver.”
