Temporary traffic lights will be in place along the A287 for two weeks in January while final pieces of work take place on a scheme to upgrade a water pipe in Ewshot.
South East Water has been laying a new 1.7 kilometre pipe through private land off Ewshot Lane and along Tadpole Lane since August.
To allow the new pipe to be connected to the existing water network, temporary traffic lights will be in operation along a section of the A287 between Monday 9 January and Friday 20 January.
Chris Love, Delivery Manager at South East Water said: “The safety of motorists and our workforce is our top priority when laying new mains which is why we need to have temporary traffic lights in place for two weeks.
“To complete this essential scheme for the local community, we need to connect the new pipe to our existing network and to safely do this we need to have space around our working area just off the A287.”
Chris continued: “I would like to apologise for the disruption this work will cause but hope motorists and the local community understand the long term benefits this scheme will deliver.”
The scheme forms part of the company’s £424 million investment programme taking place between 2015 and 2020.
