Rye Road, Playden

Why are we doing this work?

To ensure our customers in the area continue to enjoy top quality tap water, we will be installing 1050 meteres of new water main along Rye Road, Playden.

The new water main will replace the old, unreliable water main which has suffered a number of bursts.

Where are we working?

Work on the £320,000 scheme will take place in private land along Rye Road, near the Peace and Plenty.  However, some works will be in the road itself.

Works in the road will be kept to a minimum in order to reduce disruption. However, as a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our work force we will, on occasion, need to use traffic lights on Rye Road.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times. However, your normal access route may need to be changed as the scheme progresses depending on where the roadworks are in relation to your property’s entrance.

When will the work take place?

Construction is planned to start on Monday 24 July 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately seventeen weeks to complete.

Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may be some activities at weekends.
