Diplocks Way, Hailsham

Water main replacement in Diplocks Way, Hailsham, East Sussex

We are investing £254,000 to replace an old and unreliable water main that runs along Diplocks Way. This pipe has suffered a number of bursts over the years so the new pipe will increase the reliability of water supply to the area and prevent future problems.

Work to install the new main, which will be approximately 630 meters in length, will start at the junction of South Road and Diplocks Way and will then continue along Diplocks Way to a point just before the BMW dealership entrance.

How can we ensure this work is done with minimum disruption?

During the work a one way system will be in place along Diplocks Way, please see diversion map indicating the flow of traffic and note the one way system only applies to Diplocks Way and not South Road and the Hailsham Bypass. East Sussex Highways and South East Water have agreed that the one way system will not only provide suitable safety measures for the workforce and public but is also the best method for causing as little disruption as possible.

The one way system will be inforce for the duration of the work and parking along Diplocks Way will need to be restricted. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

In order to further reduce disruption, the majority of the works will be carried out at night; however some minor works will be required during the day including service transfers.

A drop-in session will take place on 27 September 2017, at Christ Church Hall (Ropemaker Park, Hailsham BN27 3GY) between 5pm and 7pm when employees from South East Water will be on hand to answer any questions you have about our plans.
