Why are we doing this work?
To ensure our customers in the area continue to enjoy top quality and reliable tap water, South East Water is planning a £20,000 scheme to install 11 metres of new water main along Southwell Park Road.
This scheme is necessary to improve the capacity of the network and ensure we can continue to maintain water pressure to the area as the community grows.
How can we ensure this work is done with minimum disruption?
The works will be undertaken within the carriageway and footways along Southwell Park Road, directly outside Firewood Court.
As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor, temporary traffic lights will be required for the duration of the scheme.
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
When is the work due to start?
The work will take place from Monday 13 March 2017 and is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. However, our contractor’s staff will work as hard as they can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.
Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may be some activities at weekends.
