Tunbridge Wells - Parking restrictions as new water main is laid in Tunbridge Wells
27 June 2016

South East Water has written to residents of Inner London Road, Tunbridge Wells, advising them of parking restrictions when a new water main is laid this autumn.

Work is due to start on 30 August and last for up to seven weeks. It will affect the stretch of Inner London Road from its junction with Church Road to number 58.

New pipework is necessary in order to ensure water pressure in the area is maintained following recent redevelopment of properties in the nearby town centre.

The water main will be laid in sections in the carriageway next to the green and due to the narrow width of the road South East Water has been granted a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, allowing the closure of parking bays within and adjacent to each section of the work, to allow vehicles to pass safely.

People living in the area can find out more by attendig a drop-in session on Tuesday 26 July at Tunbridge Wells Retreat hotel in Inner London Road between 4 pm and 7 pm. Senior managers and engineers from South East Water will be on hand to answer any questions.
