The Dene, Ropley

Why are we doing this work?

As part of an ongoing programme to improve our water supply network we are planning a scheme to install 210 metres of new water main along the track parallel and across The Dene, Ropley.

This £46,000 scheme is necessary to improve the capacity of the network and ensure we can continue to maintain water pressure to the area as the community grows.

When are we working?

Construction is planned to start on Tuesday 11 July 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete.

However our contractor’s staff will work as hard as they can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.

If possible, we will be using a directional drilling technique which involves excavating a series of pits where the pipe will then be drilled underground. If this is not achievable, traditional trenching techniques will be used.

As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor we will need to close the footpath parallel to The Dene.

The remaining work will then be undertaken using temporary traffic lights between Monday 4 September and Monday 18 September 2017.

Please be assured that access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may be some activities at weekends.
