Odiham Road, Hook

Why are we doing this work?

To ensure our customers in the Hook area continue to enjoy top quality tap water, South East Water will be laying a new water main in the area.

Work on the important £149,000 scheme, approximately 544 metres in length, will begin on Monday 26 June 2017 and the project is expected to be completed by mid-September 2017.

Where are we working?

Work to install the new water main will take place along Odiham Road, starting at its junction with Poland Lane and Bagwell Lane, and completing at the junction of Potbridge Road.

Construction works will be carried out in stages with the road being returned to its original state upon completion of one section. The working area will then move along to the next section.

As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor, a temporary road closure will be in force while this work takes place.

We have been working closely with Hampshire County Council and it has been agreed that a road closure will not only keep the public and our workforce safe, but it will reduce the impact on the nearby designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

However, please be assured that access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times. A map showing the diversion route that will be in place during the project can be viewed below.

When will be working?

Construction work on the scheme is expected to start on Monday 26 June 2017 and the project is planned to be complete by mid-September 2017.

Work will take place during normal office hours however some work may also take place at weekends.
