Update 10 March 2017

Work to connect our new pipe to our existing network this week has gone well. While this work was carried out we have discovered a valve that needs replacing.

To minimise disruption to residents and motorists, our traffic lights will be in operation for an additional week so this work can be carried out together.

Once this valve has been replaced, we will reinstate the area. We expect the traffic lights to be removed by next Saturday (18 March).

Update 3 March 2017

Temporary traffic lights will remain along the A287 for an additional week as our work to connect the new pipe to our existing network has taken longer than expected.

Next week we will be carrying out work along Ewshot Lane to take our old pipeline out of service. This means that Ewshot Lane will be closed for one week.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Update 10 February 2017

We can now confirm that we will be connecting the new pipe to our existing water network off the A287 between Monday 20 February and Friday 3 March

To keep motorists and our workforce safe, we will need to have two-way traffic lights in operation along the A287 and temporarily reduce the speed limit to 30 miles per hour for this section of work.

Following this, we will need to carry out additional work along a section of Ewshot Lane to take our old pipeline out of service. We expect this work to take place from Monday 6 March for one week.

As a safety precaution, we will need to temporarily close Ewshot Lane while this work takes place.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation.

Update 11 January 2017

We were planning to connect the new pipe to our existing water network off the A287 on Monday. This work will now be taking place after we have carried out an additional connection in private fields off Ewshot Lane.

We apologise for any inconvenience this change to our programme may cause. We will keep you updated on the new date for the connection off the A287 when it has been planned.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation.

Update 29 December 2016

Following the festive period, we are planning to connect the new pipeline to our existing water network in January.

To keep motorists and our workforce safe, we will need to have two-way traffic lights in operation along the A287 and temporarily reduce the speed limit to 30 miles per hour for this section of work.

This work will take place between Monday 9 January 2017 and Friday 20 January 2017.

We will keep you updated on the progress of this work and thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation.

Update 19 December 2016

We are pleased to say that our road closure along Tadpole Lane has now been lifted and the road is fully open to traffic.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation and patience while the road was closed.

Update 14 December 2016

We are pleased to say the gang has now moved into our reservoir site along Tadpole Lane for the remainder of the scheme.

However we have experienced a slight delay in fully reinstating the remaining open cut section of Tadpole Lane. We now expect Tadpole Lane to be fully re-opened on Monday afternoon (19 December).

We are really sorry for the inconvenience this may cause but would like to thank all local residents and motorists for your ongoing patience and cooperation.

Update 2 December 2016

We now expect to re-open Tadpole Lane on Wednesday 14 December. This will be slightly later than first thought as we need to reinstate the section of pipe that has been laid so far before we start laying the final section of main along the road. We will then move into our reservoir site.

We are pleased to say the lane closure that was in operation on the A287 has been removed now so the road is back to full use.

We will need to put temporary traffic lights here when we connect the new pipeline to our existing network. We will keep you updated on the planned date for this work.

Update 25 November 2016

We have now laid 1450 metres of pipe for the scheme and the gang is currently located at the top of the hill on Tadpole Lane heading towards our reservoir site.

We need to lay a further 150 metres of pipe along Tadpole Lane before we make our way into the reservoir site. We expect to be working in our reservoir site in approximately two weeks (9 December).

The road closure along Tadpole Lane will then be removed. We will keep you updated on the progress of this important work.

Thank you once again for your patience and cooperation throughout the scheme.

Update 10 November 2016

We are continuing to make good progress on our work to lay new pipeline through Ewshot.

So far we have laid 1220 metres of new pipe which includes crossing the A287, going through private fields and carefully operating within the SANGS (suitable alternative natural green space) land behind Ewshot Recreration Ground. We have now progressed into Tadpole Lane.

Owing to the restrictive space in Tadpole Lane we will need to temporarily close the road for approximately seven weeks. A short diversion via Beacon Hill Road is currently in place.

We expect the road closure to be in place until Friday 16 December but we will keep you updated.

Update 24 October 2016

Work to lay our new pipeline through Ewshot is going very well. So far we have laid 970 metres of the new pipe through private land off the A287 and have crossed Ewshot Lane.

This week we will continue to lay the new pipeline through fields behind Ewshot Recreation Ground.

We will start laying the new pipe along Tadpole Lane from Monday 31 October. To lay the new pipe along Tadpole Lane we will need to temporarily close the road for approximately seven weeks. A diversion via Beacon Hill Road will be in place.

We expect the road closure to be in place until Friday 16 December but we will keep you updated.

Update 13 September 2016

A partial lane closure is currently in effect on the A287 to allow our workforce to safely transport materials needed to lay our new section of pipe across private land.

So far we have carried out enabling works, including vegetation clearance, to allow us to start laying pipe later this week in private land.

We will keep you updated on the progress of this essential scheme.
