*Update 3 March 2017
Temporary traffic lights will remain along the A287 for an additional week as our work to connect the new pipe to our existing network has taken longer than expected.
Next week we will be carrying out work along Ewshot Lane to take our old pipeline out of service. This means that Ewshot Lane will be closed for one week.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Why are we doing this work?
To ensure our customers in Ewshot continue to enjoy top quality and reliable tap water, South East Water will be laying a new water main in the area.
Work on the £720,000 scheme, which will begin on 16 May 2016 and is expected to be completed in April 2017, will see a new 1.7 kilometre length pipe laid though private land off Ewshot Lane, along Ewshot Lane and Tadpole Lane.
Where are we working?
During the first part of the project, a new section of pipe will need to be laid across the A287 between the junction of Dare’s Lane and Church Lane. This is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete.
To allow this work to take place, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in operation along this section of the A287.
Once this section of the scheme is completed, work will begin to lay the new water in private land off Ewshot Lane, before the remainder of the pipe is laid along Ewshot Lane and Tadpole Lane and into South East Water’s reservoir site.
A temporary road closure will be in place during the work in Ewshot Lane and Tadpole Lane and a clearly signed diversion route will be in place.
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
