Basingstoke - Improving the water network

Why are we doing this work?

To ensure our customers in Basingstoke continue to enjoy top quality tap water, South East Water will be laying a new water main in the area.

Work on the £86,000 scheme, approximately 132 metres in length, will begin on Tuesday 14 February 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.

Where are we working?

Work to install the new water main will take place along a bridge that runs alongside Ringway East and over the railway line and Gresley Road.

As a safety precaution for pedestrians and our workforce in the area, we will need to temporarily close this footpath while work takes place.

A pedestrian diversion route will be clearly signed and access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Work will take place during normal office hours however some work may also take place at weekends.
