Why are we doing this work?
To ensure our customers in Binfield continue to enjoy top quality tap water, South East Water will be laying a new water main in the area.
Work on the £25,000 scheme, approximately 65 metres in length, will begin on Monday 27 March 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
Where are we working?
Work to install the new water main will take place within a section of the verge and carriageway at the junction of Sampson Park and St Marks Road.
Due to the restraints of working in the footway, we will be using a mixture of open cut and pipe insertion techniques.
The pipe insertion work will require us to excavate a series of pits where the pipe will run and then we will connect the new section of pipe to the existing mains.
As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor, temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the scheme.
We appreciate this will be inconvenient for those living nearby and motorists but it is necessary to ensure the safety of road users and our workforce.
Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
Work will take place during normal office hours however some work may also take place at weekends.
