Highfield Lane, Maidenhead

Why are we doing this work?

As part of an ongoing programme to improve our water supply network we are planning a scheme to install 143 metres of new water main along Highfield Lane, Maidenhead.

This £48,000 scheme is necessary to improve the capacity of the network and ensure we can continue to maintain water pressure to the area as the community grows.

When are we working?

Construction is planned to start along Highfield Lane on Monday 31 July 2017 and the project is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.

However our contractor’s staff will work as hard as they can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.

If possible, we will be using a directional drilling technique which involves excavating a series of pits where the pipe will then be drilled underground. If this is not achievable, traditional trenching techniques will be used.

Construction work will be carried out in stages, with the road being returned to its original state upon completion of one section before the working area moves along to the next stage.

As a safety precaution for pedestrians, motorists and our contractor, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in operation during this work.

Please be assured that access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Work will take place during normal working hours, although there may be some activities at weekends.
