Essential borehole works, Maidenhead
Why are we doing this work?
As part of our ongoing duty to monitor water quality in our underground water reserves, we will shortly be commencing work to drill a new observation borehole on grassland between College Avenue and Gringer Hill.
This area has been outlined (in red) on the map shown below.
This new borehole will not be used for public water supply, but will allow us to take water samples and monitor the groundwater levels as part of our national programme to protect the environment. The information taken from the borehole will be used to help us protect drinking water resources in the area.
When and where are we working?
Work to install the new borehole will begin on 3 March 2017 and is expected to take approximately one week to complete. Working hours will be between 8.30am and 5pm.
