Water softeners use chemicals to remove the hardness from water and prevent a build up of limescale in your hot water system.
If you install a water softener it is important to keep a separate supply of un-softened water for drinking and cooking, otherwise it may have too much sodium in it.
It is advisable to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the water softener and ensure it is fitted in accordance with the Water Fittings Regulations.
We leave it up to customers to decide if artificial softening is the right choice for them.
