What if I change my mind about having a water meter?

If you choose to have a water meter installed and then want to revert back to bills based on the rateable value of your home, you can do so if you notify us in writing within 13 months of moving on to metered charges.

We will then move you back on to rateable value charges from 10 working days after receiving your written request.

If you later choose to move back on to metered charges, you will not be able to return to rateable charges for a second time.
 
If you move into a new home where a meter is installed, you will be billed on metered charges and cannot revert to rateable value charges.
 
Customers who have a meter installed as part of our Customer Metering Programme between now and 2020 will be billed on metered charges and cannot revert to rateable value bills.
